FreeRun is Born

You are free to think of running in your own independent way. There are many ways to run and it isn't restricted to a jog in the park. This is the reason that Hase Ryo founded FreeRun in 2004. His philosophy of independent exploration encourages youth to find the way to improve their fitness that suits them best.

We run together to teach each other what we have learned. You can adopt what you have learned from others or you can use what you have found on your own. Its really up to you.

Who we are

We are a running club in Okinawa, Japan. There are 2 main groups to FreeRun, an youth group and an adult group. The youth group is the largest and boasts 70 members strong. These groups train and race together. And if you have come to many races in Okinawa you have probably seen many of our runners in top spots with green shirts, FR logos, and smiles on their faces.

What we have done

We are proud of our accomplishments. The youth group has topped many events.

• Local road races and track events
  
• The Okinawa youth Ekiden
  
• Okinawa Prefecture Time Trials
  

Our adult group has also done well and has had outstanding top performances in Okinawa. In just the 2006 Naha Marathon (a 20,000 person race), we have the 8th, 10th, and 11th place finishers.
We also host monthly time trials, road races, and the yearly 'FR Green Games.' Check out our events section for schedules and results.
